To Every Woman, Survivor, and Child I Have Walked Beside.
On this International Women’s Day, I stand in reverence, love, and solidarity with each of you. To the mothers, sisters, daughters, and grandmothers, both here and in the spirit world, to the warriors who have fought battles unseen, and to the ones whose voices were stolen but whose names will never be forgotten, I honor you.
To the families of our Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit relatives, I see you. I carry your sorrow, your resilience, and your love for those whose spirits now guide us. Your grief has become a fire that fuels justice, and your strength is woven into every prayer, every vigil, and every sacred step forward. You are not alone. Their names are etched into the wind, some even tattooed on my skin, whispered by the ancestors, and carried by those who refuse to let them fade.
To the survivors of human trafficking and exploitation, your spirit is unbreakable. I have seen you fight through the darkness, reclaim your voice, and step into the power that was always yours. You are more than your past, you are light, resilience, and the living proof that no one can define you but you. I will always hold space for your truth and stand beside you in your journey to healing.
To every child I have raised who was not born from my body but was forever born into my heart, you are mine in spirit, in love, and in every prayer I send to Creator. You are loved beyond measure. No matter where life takes you, you carry a piece of my soul, and I will always be a safe place for you.
And to my own daughter, my blood, my heartbeat, you are my greatest love, my greatest lesson, and my greatest hope. You are the living embodiment of all the strength and love I have ever known. The world may test you, but never doubt your power. You come from a long line of warriors, healers, and storytellers. You are the future, and the future is yours to shape.
Today, I honour you all. Your stories, your pain, your triumphs, and your love have shaped me into who I am. My spirit is forever intertwined with yours, and my heart will always beat in rhythm with your journey. You are sacred. You are loved. You are never alone.
